7TH EPISODE

Waste station:
There was talk of an unorganized dump at the beginning of the Galera in 1999.
It was always a mess there. You wouldn’t want to see something like that at the entrance of Altea Hills

So we had a professional waste station built at our expense.

With waste separation for:
– Plastic
– Glass
– Paper
– Plant remains
– Residual waste
Because the Municipality refuses to keep things tidy there, the Association has taken on the responsibility.
Paid employees do the daily maintenance of the station:

The municipality of Altea requires that the waste station is publicly accessible
As a result, anyone can dump their waste there.
And not infrequently people do that without any respect for our urbanization.
They do not adhere to the separation of waste and throw residual waste with the garden waste.
Bulky waste such as doors and cupboards are also dumped there.
Even things are dumped that don’t belong there:

Maintenance at the expense of the association
But people often make a mess of it.
Volunteers and paid staff put everything back in order every day.

On May 23 in 2024 we found this situation at the public waste area at the entrance of our Urbanisation:

Thanks to webcam-recordings, we learned who had left this for the board to clean up.
The guilty were found and the board reported as follows to the members:

“Afternoon, you will be pleased to know that using our own CCTV footage, we have found out who has been disposing their garden waste in the bins. I have spoken personally to the owners of the house in Calle Puput this morning, and they have also been contacted by the townhall, as they have also viewed their CCTV. They are new to the urbanisation and currently not members if the association. The gentleman is now fully aware of the rules regarding garden refuse, and this problem should now not happen again”

No an official Urbanisation: 
Had they obligatory been a member of the Urbanisation, we would have been able to provide new owners of the general rules we have implemented.

In the mean time members inform the community as follows:

“We have a neighbor who rents her house okay and she always has people rented but for months they have not cleaned the street in El Capsot which also leads to my house because everything is dirty because of these people okay”

OR:

“For months now, in El Puput’s house near my house, the one in front of my house, they never cleaned their street, which is also mine, you understand, and tenants live there and they don’t even mention cleaning the street.”

OR:

“On the street of El Capsot there are always palm tree branches, beers and everything and we are quite fed up for dessert, a neighbor does not clean the street and she also dirtyes my street and my house and I already told them but they don’t pay attention and those who are rented don’t They do absolutely nothing to clean, anyway, we are cheap people like this.”

More work to do for the members of the board.
The Urb. Altea Hills are easy to find.
But the beautiful Galera De Las Palmeras is impossible to find.
That is why our board has taken the initiative to place a nameplate at the entrance.

The new sign has not even been there for a day.

The municipality hastened to warn us that the sign had to be removed immediately.
Sometimes the municipality responds very quickly.
